Lisa Grimes

The best way to describe me is that I am a learner. A life-long, growth-minded learner. At my very heart and soul, I am a teacher and student in all that I do.

While I have been in the fitness industry teaching cycle, leading rides and runs, strength classes and nutrition for over 36 years, my practice on the mat came relatively late in life.  As an athlete, I wanted to try yoga but was ashamed of my lack of flexibility, so I “snuck” off to practice in secret. I quickly learned that yoga was not what I thought it was and I completely fell in love with the practice. It has changed my breathing, my center, my purpose, my health, my mission and my life.

As a 54 year old former teacher (all subjects elementary, middle and high school biology) I currently work as an instructional coach to classroom teachers to build their capacity to teach students. I am a mom to 3 grown children and they are my greatest joy. My education consists of an undergraduate degree at Texas Tech, graduate work at TCU, Learning Forward Academy, Results instructional Coaching – Level 3 coach, Precision Nutrition certification, 200 YTT and currently in 300 hour IYT pursuing my 500 hr certification.

I found a truth in my yoga practice that fuels my passion to continually edit and re-edit my life to be in sync with myself, others and the universe.

I humbly and happily join this incredible tribe of yogi’s at the Yoga Retreat as an exciting part of my yoga journey and my life’s  journey.
